Update 8/13

Update on Cobbs Glen Projects:
Bunker Renovations:
* The front nine bunkers have been filled with sand – more specifically, 980 tons of sand!

* Price savings: Quoted the cost of $12 per square foot to renovate a bunker. The front
bunker on hole #7 is 5,000 square feet – which would cost $60,000 for one bunker. We
spent just $1950 for filling with the new sand and can fix drainage issues in a more localized
way.

*The back nine bunkers will be completed as soon as possible. We are waiting for the sand
to be mined and delivered – another 980 tons will be needed.

Greens Upkeep:
* We KNOW the greens are what make or break a golf course – our goal is to have those
perfect greens and the work we are doing now will ensure we hit that target!

* About a month ago, all the greens were punched with 5/8” tines, and then top dressed –
this process had not been done in a long time. This helps alleviate compaction and allows
air to get into the soil and roots which promotes healthy growth in the grass.

* The grounds crew have been hand punching the few bad patches left on the greens and
then top dress with green sand.

* New cup cutters have been purchased, and they are the best kind available! The previous
cutters were around 30 years old and moving onto retirement.

* The greens will be rolled daily, and it is the priority to get them healthy, maintain them
through the winter, which will give them a head start come spring.
And just an FYI – right now, we are fixing everything, WITHOUT water! The irrigation
system is the backbone of a golf course and right now – it needs a spinal adjustment. The
more members that join will get us closer to that perfect spine!

Update 8/17
More project updates – Driving Range:

One of the biggest changes yet! The new drainage, irrigation system, and hitting deck on
the range will provide a world-class location for perfecting your golf shots.

Tentative opening on 1st of September. Opening depends on the growth of the grass on the
driving range. Old range balls will be used until grass is completely grown so as not to mar
new balls on bare ground.
Future driving range features will include:

* Covered hitting area with Trackman
* Range ball dispenser to use at your convenience
* Well-lit area to allow for use after the sun set
* Enjoy your favorite food & beverages on comfortable couches in a heated/cooled bay
* Add a “Members Only” section

* Extend the depth of the driving range by clearing trees at the far end of the current range

More project updates – Equipment:

Cobbs Glen recently acquired used equipment to replace our outdated implements. A huge
shout-out to our master mechanic, Greg Bates, who worked tirelessly to ensure we got the
most out of the equipment prior to replacements. One of the main reasons we opted for
used equipment is that the waitlist for some of the items we urgently need is over a year
long. The equipment will be used throughout the course to enhance various areas of
operation.
