Record Five Women’s Golfers Named WGCA All-American Scholars
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — A program-record five High Point University women’s golfers were named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team on Monday.
Of 1,497 women’s golfers honored from 412 programs, High Point had the most student-athletes recognized since 2008 as Maddie Hensley, Danielle Suh, Ana-Elena Kusters, Ella Perna and Anna Howerton all earned the prestigious honor.
The criteria to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continues to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
- Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
- Be an amateur and on the team’s roster through the conclusion of the team’s season.
- Have played in 50% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team’s conference championship.
